Position Summary
The Park Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Park Maintenance Superintendent. This position is responsible for the efficient and effective communication and delegation of projects to our team of labour and operator support staff. This position requires the follow up on all tasks and projects assigned to ensure they are completed correctly and in a timely manner, as well as ensuring all company and regulatory policies are followed accordingly.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain the appearance of Calgary Stampede Park and Facilities building by performing housekeeping/janitorial services, such as garbage removal, floor care, snow removal and cleaning.
- Understand the role our department fills for both equipment operation and labour support in the success of parkwide events, projects, and general operations/maintenance. Including efficiently managing these resources and adjusting to changing priorities.
- Supervise labour and equipment as assigned for projects, events or general maintenance to meet organizational requirements.
- Monitor project progress to ensure staff and resources are suitable and appropriate to meet department objectives, i.e. equipment operations, lifting technique.
- Instruct and coach staff to complete assignments and department documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Regular updates to Park Maintenance Superintendent regarding operational, labourer and equipment status.
- Accurate completion and auditing of department documentation including but not limited to: Smartsheet task ID’s, inspection documents, quotes, and event files.
- Promote Safety and Environmental Policies as part of everyday activities and department culture.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic, a team player and be able to multi-task. They will have three to five years of experience within an operations or maintenance department, or a related field, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity as well as:
- Minimum Class 3 driver’s license with air brakes will be required within 3 months of accepting the role.
- Grader, farm tractor, road construction and heavy equipment experience would be an asset.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent coaching and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, meet strict deadlines and effectively deal with changing circumstances.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and eCompliance are considered assets.
- Ability to retrieve and accommodate direction and goals to meet client expectations.
Physical Demands
- Occasional lifting to a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Pushing, pulling, crouching, bending, and reaching frequently.
- Exposure to dust, fumes, gas, odors, animal dander, bedding waste and variability of seasonal climate.
- Visual acuity and colour vision are required
