Career Opportunity
We are currently hiring a Senior Analyst, Revenue Ridership in our Finance Department.
What You Will Do
You will be responsible for estimating, forecasting, budgeting, reporting and analyzing TTC’s revenue ridership. This role will support other Groups and Departments in their evaluation of proposed changes to existing fares, existing or planned TTC fare policies, and other revenue impacting strategies for the TTC. This includes conducting advanced data and financial analysis & modelling, data mining, data visualization, and developing revenue ridership related reports and presentations to support senior management’s strategic and operational decision-making.
Moreover, you will study passenger behaviours and develop passenger segmentation models based on spatial and temporal usage patterns to better forecast revenue ridership. Research, monitor and incorporate economic indicators, demographic information, public policy, and other related statistics into the revenue ridership budgeting and forecasting process
Build, streamline and automate daily, weekly, monthly and yearly ridership reports and insights for the senior management team to oversee revenue ridership performance. Develop and prepare financial summaries for TTC Board Reports including identifying current and future revenue and passenger revenue impacts associated with report recommendations, and review financial summaries with senior management team and obtain necessary approvals
You will also be responsible for maintaining and supporting the use of data repositories of revenue ridership related statistics and provide analytics and modelling expertise to management and staff throughout the organization. Support the architecture, implementation and enhancement of technology platforms and fare collection systems, as well as data governance, design, and maintenance efforts to ensure accurate and timely revenue ridership reporting. Participate in internal and external working groups and industry knowledge sharing sessions as needed. As well, act as Finance/TTC representative on various internal/external working groups and task forces

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Completion of a University Degree, or College Diploma in a related discipline (Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics), along with relevant experience, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Experience in building analytical framework to provide insights and analytics of complex issues
- Extensive experience with providing data insights, data analytics and financial modelling
- Extensive experience in conceptualizing, designing, implementing and rolling out of business intelligence reports
- Experience in developing impactful, measurable, and relevant targets / benchmarks / outcomes to monitor and report on organizational progress towards corporate and/or business plans, priorities & objectives
- Working knowledge in data manipulation, data analytics, business intelligence, statistical modelling, and advanced analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Micro Strategy, R, Python, etc.)
- Working knowledge and experience with spatial analytics tools is an asset
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with public sector organizations or transit agencies is an asset
- Enrollment in or possession of a recognized accounting designation (e.g. CPA) is an asset
- Demonstrated work experience with SAP is an asset
- Expert knowledge in MS Excel, Excel VBA, SQL, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong quantitative, problem-solving skills and abilities to discover interconnectivities between various sources of data and observations
- Ability to design and implement ridership and/or revenue forecasting and measurement methods, tools, training and dashboards, particularly for transit or similar organizations
- Knowledge of concepts such as data segmentation, data clustering, and advanced analytics techniques
- Ability to develop effective relationships both internally and externally, with staff at all levels, including senior leaders and external organizations
- Proven, excellent written and verbal communication skills, including delivering presentations with complex technical information to senior management team
- Ability to manage competing priorities and demands in a rapidly changing environment
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
