Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Board Member
About the role
The Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Committee was originally established on December 2, 2024. On July 7, 2025, Council adopted FCSS Committee Amending Bylaw #23.25 which transitioned the committee from a primarily administrative body composed of Council members to an advisory committee, including members at large representing local social services agencies. Consolidated FCSS Committee Bylaw #34.24 contains all amendments and outlines the terms of reference for the FCSS Committee.
The purpose of this committee is to:
- offer advice and recommendations regarding the oversight and monitoring of all programs funded through the FCSS program;
- review grant applications and provide recommendations to Council on the disbursement of grant funds through the FCSS program by prioritizing community needs;
- provide recommendation on the allocation of all FCSS funding, within the constraints of the approved FCSS budget;
- recommend policies for the administration of the FCSS program; and
- present an annual report and recommended budget to Council, in conjunction with Town of Drumheller Administration.
The Committee consists of both Council Members and Members at Large which represent social services agencies.
