Duties:
- Food preparation as per recipes and serving for cafeteria and catering operations, production levels and standards of quality determined by the Kitchen Supervisor or Management.
- May include the preparation of sandwiches, salads, baked goods and other menu items.
- Serving and portioning food from prepared dishes while interacting with customers.
- Provide excellent service to all cafeteria and catering customers; communicate customer feedback to Kitchen Supervisor or Management.
- Keep an organized and clean work area, ensuring this is done by cleaning all surfaces, equipment, dishes, disposing of all garbage and recycling materials, and perform weekly cleaning duties as seen fit by Kitchen Supervisor.
- Open and close work areas.
- Monitor product levels in the Cafeteria.
- Receive, rotate, retrieve and count inventory items.
Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 plus an "Introduction to Culinary Arts" certificate program from an appropriately accredited institution or equivalent. One year of work experience in a restaurant or institutional setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- FoodSafe required.
- Excellent service, communication and organizational skills.
- Proven to meet deadlines and production quotas.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One-year Culinary Arts Certificate from an appropriately accredited institution.
