We are looking for a crane operator to safely lift loads on construction sites. You will work closely with construction workers and ground operators to complete your daily duties. To succeed in this role, you should have hands-on experience with cranes and building materials. Problem-solving and attention to detail are also must-have skills for you, so that you can adapt to different weather conditions and settings.
Responsibilities
- Operate cranes and hoists in a safe way according to crane manufacturers manual
- Responsible for assembly, disassembly, lifts and movements of cranes
- Performs pre-operational inspections, safety checks, test lifts and load chart calculations
- Calculating crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
- Load, unload and safely secure cargo as required
- Inspect equipment and machinery to ensure safety & certification
- Keep and update maintenance and activity log
- Coordinate with ground operators and interpret hand and verbal signals
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols
- Assist in mobilization and demobilization of equipment
Requirements
- Minimum 3 Years experience operating a crane
- Journeyman Mobile Crane certificate is an asset
- Valid Class 1 or 3 is a requirement
- Commitment to the Health & Safety program and a proactive mindset towards ensuring a safe work environment
- Meticulous accuracy and a keen eye for detail
- Strong communication skills
