Role description: Our team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is looking for a Civil Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in the design and assessment of water and wastewater systems to join our Canadian Water Business. You will be part of a collaborative and dynamic team, working to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.
Arcadis serves a variety of municipal and private sector clients in many market sectors. We combine technical expertise, a passion to serve and a willingness to be adaptable in every project to serve our clients. You will bring your expertise to a variety of project types ranging from large municipal water/wastewater treatment facility upgrades projects to local system upgrades and feasibility studies. This role sites within our global business area, Resilience.
Role accountabilities:
- Lead civil site works design and provide engineering services during construction for water/wastewater treatment facilities, water reservoirs, and pumping/ lift stations
- Assist in project management activities including budget and schedule tracking.
- Participate in business development and proposal preparation
- Lead the development of engineering designs for permit or construction purposes, including design drawings, technical specifications, presentations, cost estimates, hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, and earthwork site design
- Use your strong technical writing and communications skills to develop regulatory permit application packages, technical documents and reports, work plans, memoranda, and other environmental documents to support design/permitting activities
- Be involved in supporting the growth of new and existing client relationships in conjunction with business development leaders and account leaders. This will include leveraging existing client relationships, supporting client account teams, and assisting with pursuits and proposal opportunities, including scope and cost development
Qualifications And Experience
- University degree in Civil Engineering program or recognized equivalent
- Hold an engineering license (P.Eng.) in good standing or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering for water and wastewater facilities and for linear watermain/ storm and sanitary systems
The successful candidate will have a str working knowledge of CAD and Civil3D, be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a proven work ethic and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong knowledge of project management systems, such as MS-Project and Oracle.

The salary range for this position is $89,000-134,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
