About the role

Position Summary:

Tacten is currently hiring Rope Certified Journeyperson Electricians to support upcoming work at Shell Scotford in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. In this role, you'll be a vital part of our team, performing high-angle tasks with precision, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety.

Position Details:

  • Rate: Starting at $49.73/hour + IRATA Uplift
  • Rotation: 4 days on / 3 days off
  • Shifts: 10-hour days (straight time)
  • Schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Start Date: July 7
  • Duration: 2 months, with the potential for extension
  • Location: Shell Scotford, Fort Saskatchewan, AB
  • Locals required

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintaining electrical systems where required
  • Installing and connecting electrical components such as motors, transformers, control panels, and other equipment necessary for industrial operations
  • Identify issues, replace faulty components, and to ensure that all machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.

Requirements:

  • JM Electrician Certification
  • Minimum IRATA Level 1 required. Ability to hire those with IRATA Level 2 and 3 as well
  • Ability to maintain positive working relations with clients
  • Exceptional safety and quality awareness
  • Ability to solve problems and manage time effectively
  • Self-motivated and capable of working at a high technical and performance level

Safety Certifications

  • CSTS-2020 or ESC CSO
  • CSE/M (Confined Space and Monitor and Entry)
  • ESC Fall Protection an asset
