Our Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) Program is vital to our lawyers’ success and continued development. One of the primary responsibilities of the Education & LMS Coordinator is to provide administrative and project management support to deliver a great experience for our lawyer participants. Another key area of responsibility is the administration of our very own “Stikeman Elliott University” or “SEU” (as we call it!), which is our Learning Management System and a wonderful resource used by all firm members.
The successful candidate for this position may or may not have experience with everything we’re looking for, and that’s okay! If you have a natural inclination to learn and want to assist others in supporting their own learning and development, we’d love to hear from you! This opportunity is a 14-month contract position to cover a leave of absence on the team. Our competitive health and dental benefits package will be offered.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Program: Coordinates the logistics, administrative work and technology for all sessions e.g., sends out invites and confirmations, boardroom/virtual set-up, tech set-up, coordination of facilitators and materials, records sessions, etc.
- Maintains (adds/deletes/archives) content for Stikeman Elliott’s Learning Management System, “SEU”.
- Within “SEU”, creates and maintains user groups and learning plans.
- Acts as the main point of contact for technical and administrative inquiries related to SEU including course creation, report generation and responding to user inquiries.
- Responsible for record keeping, collecting, and compiling participation data for the purposes of internal reporting, reporting to the Law Society of Ontario and responding to Law Society of Ontario audits.
- Assists with tracking Law Society of Ontario rules regarding Continuing Professional Development.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of Education and LMS process documents and checklists.
- Coordinates meetings of the Education Committee and updates education calendars.
Knowledge & Experience:
- College diploma or University degree a strong asset
- 1-3 years’ experience working in Education or Learning and Development, ideally in coordination/administration and with some exposure and experience in administering a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Office administration experience considered to be a strong asset
- Event planning and project management experience
Skills & Abilities:
- Superior organizational skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work well independently and as a team member
- Advanced technical skills (MS Office, Word, Outlook and Excel, Outlook, Zoom and MS Teams) and the ability to leverage technology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
