About the role

The Little MVRS Associate provides care and supervision for children of members and guests.

Location: Westbrook

Status: Part Time

Reporting To: General Manager

Hours of Work: Monday-Saturday 8:45 am-12:15pm.

Position Summary

The Little MVRS Associate primary responsibility is to provide care and supervision for children of members and guests. Little MVRS Associate ensure that the children are in a safe, engaging, and clean environment at all times, organizing and monitoring the children’s activities throughout their stay.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures appropriate check-in procedures for children are followed.
  • Organizes, supervises, and leads children in activities.
  • Ensures that all children remain in the center until they are picked up by their parent/guardian.
  • Takes care of the needs of the children such as changing diapers, supervising snack time, participating in games and activities, bathroom assistance or supervision, bottle feeding and holding or rocking infants.
  • Monitors and addresses inappropriate behaviour of children and ensures that parents are contacted if child is upset for an extended period and provides accurate feedback on child’s behaviour.
  • Ensures the children have a clean, safe, and clutter-free environment to play.
  • Reports all incidents, injuries, accidents, member concerns to Kids Club Supervisor via incident reports.
  • Performs all Kids Club housekeeping duties required and requested by Kids Club Supervisor.
  • Ensures all toys, supplies, and equipment in center are safe, clean and in good working order.
  • Provides compassionate, caring, and safe environment for children to play and interact.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 1+ years’ experience in the Child Care industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education, an asset.
  • Red Cross Babysitting Certificate or equivalent, an asset.
  • Current Infant/Child CPR Certification, an asset
  • A proven track record or successful Child Care.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A genuine compassionate nature.
  • Ability to help others.
  • Safety conscious with keen observational skills.
  • Ability to motivate others and be proactive.
  • Ability to organize and plan.
