Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview The incumbent is responsible for assisting employees regarding all benefit related inquiries, enrolments into various benefit plans, leave of absence calculation, package preparation and updating changes to employee benefits plans. Acts as a liaison with HEB Manitoba, Manitoba Blue Cross, Winnipeg Civic Employee Benefit Program, Civil Service Superannuation Board, Canada Life, Ellement Consulting group, the Workers Compensation Board and Manitoba Public Insurance regarding employee benefits including: health, dental, employee assistance program, health spending account, life insurance, disability and rehabilitation, paid and unpaid leave of absences, RRSP’s and pension.
Experience
- Minimum of two years previous experience in employee benefits required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
- Completion of or current enrollment in a benefits or insurance certification program or courses required.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration Not Applicable
Qualifications And Skills
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with staff at all levels essential.
- Ability to prioritize and complete duties independently.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to maintain a high-degree of confidentiality.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work effectively while under deadline pressures in a fast-paced environment.
