Job Summary:
We are seeking a Production Control Specialist to manage production programs, prevent assembly shortages, and ensure on-time delivery of customer products. This role will require using MRP and production control tools to generate reports, manage inventory, and maintain schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience in production planning and control, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate shortage reports, track behind-schedule items, and alert Manufacturing, Procurement, and Program Management of issues.
- Identify bottlenecks in work centers and assist in resolving them.
- Manage internal production priorities and adjust MRP schedules as needed.
- Determine splits for "held for material" shop orders and action scrap tags and stock purges.
- Process MRP reports and prepare other necessary reports and schedules for Managers/Coordinators.
- Track and record tooling, parts, and materials throughout the plant.
- Submit regular progress reports on production programs, including jig status and shop orders.
- Maintain proper storage and inventory of company and customer property, ensuring proper wrapping and placement.
- Prepare outbound shipments and ensure proper documentation for inspections and deliveries.
- Receive parts into inventory, ensuring accuracy through counting, weight verification, and quality checks.
- Manage shop orders, ensuring traceability and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Adhere to first-in/first-out processes for material handling and maintain accurate records.
- Complete required quality forms and paperwork.
- Maintain an organized, safe workspace and follow safety standards and practices.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar or related production control environment.
- APICS Certification is required.
- Proficient in MRP systems and computer literacy.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
