Renew Supervision Services provides supervision and clinical services to parents and families in high conflict relationships. As an extension to our supervision services, Renew provides one-on-one care to children and youth in, or transitioning between, placements.
Renew Supervision Services is looking for an experienced Social Service Worker to provide one-on-one in-home and community supervision to children and youth in and around the Peterborough area.
Hours: Weekdays (4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) based on family needs, and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).
Responsibilities include:
- Supervise and support pro-social behaviour of child/youth at placement (e.g., foster home, treatment facility, shelter, hotel, etc.)
- Implement and evaluate Care Plan.
- Assist children and youth to develop life skills, social skills and/or access to community resources.
- Accompany and/or transport individuals to activities such as appointments, shopping, school, employment, or leisure activities.
- Ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for children and youth, providing age-appropriate activities with adaptations as needed.
- Support children and youth with ASD, including diaper changes.
- Provide feedback to workers regarding individual care plans
- Maintain accurate and current file records on all clients in care.
- Consult with social workers, other professionals, and family when appropriate
- Participate and contribute to regular staff meetings.
- Reach out to youth at times when, and in places where, they are not connected to adult supervision, assessing their primary needs, and taking appropriate action using a harm reduction model of service delivery.
- Provide a supportive and collaborative environment to assist the family.
- Perform other related duties as required such as, but not limited to, regular household activities needed for the daily upkeep and maintenance of the home. Staff need to be able to lift a minimum of 10lbs.

Qualifications:
- University degree/college diploma in a related field (e.g., CYW/CYC, DSW, SSW, BSW)
- Work experience in managing challenging and/or disruptive behaviour, working with individuals in residential, non-residential, child welfare, community, hospital, school, and other settings.
- Work experience in mental health, as well as any experience working with individuals of all ages with developmental challenges, dual diagnosis, FASD, Autism, and other.
- Able to work independently and demonstrate self-initiative.
- Ability to relate appropriately to youth as well as to the families of each client.
- Experience creating client-centered plans.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts to accommodate appointments after school, in the evenings, holidays and on weekends.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate with youth effectively and adapt to accommodate developmental needs
- First aid/CPR certification
- Ministry-approved Crisis Intervention (UMAB, CPI, BMS)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to take direction from supervisors and care team
- Experience with data collection an asset
Certification:
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Non-violent crisis intervention training
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $27.50 per hour

We are looking for caring professionals, who are part of a professional regulatory body or association (e.g., ECE, Social Work, CYW), to join our team of Supervised Access Workers (or Family Support Workers) who monitor custody visitations between parent and child(ren).
