About the role
Canada Pump and Power is looking for a part-time Groundskeeper (approx. 3 days/week) to maintain residential and commercial properties year-round across three sites. The ideal candidate is reliable, trustworthy, semi-retired, mechanically inclined, and experienced in yard work, equipment operation, and basic mechanical repairs. Responsibilities include grass cutting, snow removal, and maintenance of tools and machinery such as mowers, loaders, and skid steers. This independent role requires strong time management, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Accountabilities
- Work safely and adhere to and work within all Company, customer, and worksite standards, rules, and regulations.
- Conduct work hazard analysis and report ALL potential hazards, accidents, and near misses.
- Perform Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA) as required by the OH&S legislation and to report all non-conformances in products, processes, and services.
- Inspect worksite daily and maintain good housekeeping of all equipment and worksite and report required maintenance.
- Perform and document pre-use equipment inspections and ensure regular maintenance of equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Equipment and systems isolations (lockout/tagout)
- Safely operate a pickup truck to and from various worksite locations, tow and position trailered equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all OH&S legislation and site-specific safe operating procedures.
- General maintenance of equipment with diesel and gasoline engines
- Operate various equipment such as loader, dozer, backhoe, ride on mower, trimmer
- Complete tasks such as mowing, trimming and snow removal
- Towing and reversing various sizes of trailers with equipment
- Occasional parts pick ups and deliveries
- Maintain professionalism with a customer-oriented approach to all tasks
- Other duties as assigned.

Must have a valid driver’s license with 3 years of acceptable driving history.

Must participate and pass screening tests for drugs, alcohol, and other controlled substances.
Work Environment
- Interactions with other employees, customers, and contractors
- Must be able to work outdoors occasionally in inclement weather
- Will be exposed to dust, fumes, noise and uneven terrain
- Various site locations
Physical Demands
- Approximately 3 days per week
- Capable of moving over and around obstacles with the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb
- Capable of lifting and carrying large or heavy loads sometimes up to 18 kg
