About the role

Position Description:

The Hospital Supervisor is responsible for facilitating after-hours, weekends and holidays support and will be accountable for the general administration and management of all departments and staff in the absence of the Management and Administrative teams.

The Hospital Supervisor will create a supportive environment for staff, patients and family members, and will also communicate effectively in all interactions with an inter-professional team and our community partners to facilitate patient and family-centered care.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses (CNO) as a Registered Nurse.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a healthcare environment, with a focus on bed management, patient flow, or clinical coordination is required
  • Collaborative working relationship with an interprofessional health care team
  • Experience with guiding staff experiencing performance and/or attendance problems.
  • Experience in infection prevention and control, an asset

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of processes and systems in an acute care setting is required.

  • Sound interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and team building skills that facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team.

  • Possesses highly developed analytical, problem solving, critical thinking skills and the ability to introduce and effectively facilitate change.

  • Strong clinical decision-making and organizational skills with a commitment to professional development.

  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

  • Awareness of community supports and services for identified populations would be an asset.

  • Strong working knowledge of computer, Microsoft Office and Outlook applications.

  • Demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Hours of Work: Available for all shifts including days, nights (including overnights) weekends, statutory holidays and on call.
