Scope
The City of Surrey’s Parks, Recreation & Culture – Administration Team is committed to providing ongoing support to the General Manager and Divisions Managers and others within the PRC Department.. As part of that commitment, we are currently looking for a Clerk 4 to join our dynamic team.
This position reports to the Manager, Support Services and works closely with the Administrative Team to support the Parks Division and Director of Parks. This position performs moderately complex and diversified clerical work in various capacities. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills to ensure the effective operation of the Parks Division’s administrative functions.
Employees work under limited supervision and exercise considerable independent judgement and initiative.
Responsibilities
Provides clerical and administrative support services to Parks, Recreation & Culture Staff.
Plans and coordinates work to support the Parks Division in a variety of functions.
Prepares varied documents, collects, and analyzes a variety of data, and complex statistical reports.
Managing the Parks Director’s calendar, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence as requested.
Assisting Division and Section Managers with the initial drafting and formatting of reports, presentations, briefing notes, and committee materials.
Handling payroll and P-Card administration; processing invoices and financial system entries (FMS).
Organizing logistics and taking minutes for a variety of meetings.
Managing records and retention systems; responding to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and public inquiries.
Completing and processing forms and reports for payroll, purchase card reconciliation and others as required.
Providing administrative assistance to Committees.
Supporting Department-wide initiatives and events like staff appreciation.
Contributing to various administrative projects and performs other related duties as required.

Pay Grade: 15 Steps Hourly Rate (2024 Rates) Step 1 $31.97 Step 2 (6 Months) $32.90 Step 3 (18 Months) $33.50 Step 4 (30 Months) $34.75
Conditions of Employment
This position requires completion of a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check.
