Role Description:
- Work with customers to integrate TRQSS seat belts and hardware into vehicles and resolve customer design issues
- Understand and apply customer and regulatory test specifications, generate special tests where applicable
- Develop test plans, submit parts for testing, evaluate test results and prepare reports
- Provide direction to designers to develop unique components required for the vehicle application (anchors, straps, etc) and end item assembly drawings
- CAD work (modeling & drawing generation) to ensure that customer deadlines and requirements are met
- Release BOMs and end item assembly drawings
- Release design/development schedule, design plan, design activity summary, customer change and drawing schedules
- Support pre-production and prototype builds at TRQSS at customers and suppliers
- Participate in PDT and AQP teams
- Create DFMEA, DRBFM, CCT, FTA as required
- Work with TRJ to develop TRJ supplied and localization of components
- Negotiate timing of deliverables with customer (parts, drawings, testing)
- Lead cost reduction activities on various projects
- Assist in trouble shooting production issue at TRQSS, supplier or customer
- Reviewing and conduct Engineering investigation of PCR’s and engineering change requests
- Support purchasing activity regarding part quotations, localization, etc
- Other duties as required (includes quoting new business, supporting new customer development, supervising co-op students, training new associates)
- Frequent contact and communication with customers for negotiation of designs and problem resolution
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering Preferred) from a recognized Canadian university or sufficient proof of the equivalency of such a degree
- Experience in 3D CAD design tools with SolidWorks/Catia experience preferred
- Self-starter with strong analytical and interpersonal skills who can converse clearly in both written and verbal situations/formats
- Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally to support business related activities (Travel to suppliers, customer and TR group companies)
- This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid Ontario issued driver’s license and passport. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that s/he has a valid Ontario issued driver’s license and passport upon being hired
