Welder
Summary
Mainland Machinery services complete steel fabrication products and services for the energy, mining, ports & terminals and industrial agriculture industries. Year round full time work.

Safety
Required to wear appropriate PPE while on company sites.
Required to follow all safety requirements as per safety policies
No cell phone use during work hours. Permitted during breaks and lunch only.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and recognizing the need for help
Duties Skills and Abilities

C or B ticket
-
Understanding of Welding distortion as well as pre and post heating
-
Proficient in MCAW, FCAW, GMAW in and out of position welding
-
Able to pass and hold a CWB certification.
Responsibilities
-
Employee must possess the tools to do their job effectively
-
Maintain a clean & safe work environment.

Make use of welding screens when needed
-
Ensure proper use of shop tools
-
Must have the ability to read and understand shop drawings
-
Comply with all Mainland Machinery safety regulations
-
Interact well and work well with others
-
Communicate any questions or concerns with the supervisor at all times.

Monitor all welding processes, and to the best of his/her ability, negate any shrinkage and/or distortion to component being welded.

Ensure all parts or components have been dimensionally checked and checked by quality control before and after welding.

Ensure welded part/component is free of spatter, porosity, undercut etc….. All must be checked and approved before it is deemed completed

Ensure parts/components are welded to the standard communicated to them or as stated on the drawings. (weld size, length of weld, areas to weld)
