Job Summary
The Valet will professionally greet all guests from their arrival at the front door; escort the guest to and from their rooms if there is a need. Assist with loading and unloading of luggage into and out of vehicles. Another responsibility is that this person will park guest vehicles and assist them with hotel and city enquiries. This position touches different aspects of the hotel and provides an opportunity to learn about the overall hotel operation. Therefore it requires individuals who are positive, enthusiastic, and can service many different requests at one time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Valet park guest vehicles
- Full local knowledge of city attractions
- Provide guests with directions or any other information if required
- Every door has to be open by the Valet
- Assist with guest luggage
- Snow removal during Winter Season as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Must have a valid Canadian driver’s license
- Must be able to work predominantly evening shifts
- Bilingualism, English & French preferred
- A working knowledge of computers is required
- Must be able to lift/push/carry up to 50lbs
- Must be able to work variable shifts and would include working holidays and weekends
- Must submit a drivers abstract upon hiring
- Initiative and team work
Physical Effort
- Standing for long periods of time.
Working Conditions
- Governed by concurrent and dynamic deadlines, despite conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions.
- Frequent handling of queries and calls from guests, potential guests, and other departments.
Type of Supervision Required
Reports to the Front Office Supervisor and General Manager. Works under general instructions to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
