About the role
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
- Support budgeting processes by providing insights and analysis on financial performance.
- Perform bi -weekly payroll functions to ensure employees are compensated accurately and on time.
- Provide reporting to Management for external sources.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent mandatory
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles of 3-5 years in public accounting performing similar work.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, payroll management, account analysis, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software’s including Sage300 and Yardi.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members
