About the role

Summary:
This leadership role is responsible for defining and overseeing the global statistical strategy and execution for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) across the oncology portfolio. The position combines scientific leadership with operational execution, team management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure impactful evidence generation using both primary and real-world data (RWD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the global statistical strategy for Oncology HEOR/HTA in alignment with internal stakeholders and ensure delivery of high-quality, timely, and compliant statistical activities across all regions.
- Provide strategic input across the oncology product lifecycle and act as the senior escalation point for all statistical matters related to HEOR/HTA.
- Oversee the planning and execution of statistical work supporting HEOR/HTA studies using primary data and RWD, including protocol input, analysis plans, and results interpretation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, audit readiness, and consistency with internal policies and industry best practices.
- Build, manage, and develop a high-performing global team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning, with a focus on both technical skills and leadership development.
- Allocate resources effectively across geographies and ensure the team is equipped to meet current and future project needs.
- Manage vendor relationships at a senior level, including contract negotiation, oversight, and delivery of high-quality outsourced services within budget.
- Drive innovation and operational excellence by adopting new methodologies in observational research, RWE, and PROs, and by contributing to global process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate across functions to define data strategies, ensure alignment with business needs, and promote best practices throughout the drug development lifecycle.
- Represent the function in cross-functional forums and support global initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, harmonization, and the impact of statistical evidence.
Requirements
- MSc (PhD preferred) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or related field.
- 12+ years in statistics within pharma, biotech, medical devices, or CROs, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience in oncology and in the design and analysis of late-phase or real-world evidence studies.
- Deep understanding of HTA, pricing/reimbursement, and payer evidence requirements globally.
- Track record of leading statistical strategy and execution in a cross-functional environment.
- Experience managing global teams and CRO partnerships.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including communication, coaching, and influencing.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical methods relevant to observational studies and PROs.
- Proven project management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Fluent in English; willingness to travel up to 15%.
