About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor, theData Entry Clerk within the Group Benefits Administration department is tasked with providing comprehensive administrative support. This role encompasses a variety of clerical duties, including data entry, scanning, printing, and filing. The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate input of member information into Cowan’s administration systems. The incumbent is responsible for executing the enrolment process for clients across various plans, addressing matters such as coverage, enrollments, changes, terminations, and beneficiaries. This individual should be comfortable balancing attention to detail, productivity and efficiency in everyday tasks.

What you will do:

  • Perform high-volume data entry into the appropriate databases
  • Review data for completeness and accuracy
  • Perform duties relating to filing, photocopying, printing and scanning
  • Support the Administrative Services Agents in various clerical tasks, such as preparing correspondence and confidential documents
  • Ensure appropriate turnaround time on all data entry
  • Interact with a variety of stakeholders and other team members to complete day-to-day tasks
  • Use basic office equipment (photocopy machine, computer, label-machine, etc.)
  • Performing data searches, verify and edit data as required
  • Perform data entry tasks in accordance with service level agreements and client demands
  • Participate in various special projects including continuous improvement initiatives
  • Process various administrative inquiries and ad-hoc tasks

What you will bring:

  • Post-secondary diploma in a related field, such as business administration or equivalent training acquired from a combination of relevant work experience and education
  • 1-2 years of experience in data entry or equivalent training
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for a long period of time with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate good judgement, reliability, and professionalism in fast paced environment
  • Bilingual, written and oral (English and French), is considered an asset
  • Please note the successful candidate must be flexible to work non-standard business hours and/or overtime from time to time, when required
