About the role
This is an on-call position. You will be contacted the evening before if your availability is required for the following day.
Business hours 7:30 am -4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
We are looking for someone who is familiar with loading heavy equipment on flatbed trucks.
Key Duties:
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, and compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.
- Perform appropriate trip inspections on equipment operation and load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness.
- Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate. Have appropriate permits and transponder if applicable.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the public, customers, and co-workers.
- Complete and submit all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Adhere to height and weight requirements.
- Moderate physical effort is required to manually unload material, secure the load, place crossers and step on and off forklift.
- Train others when required.
- Work with crew if time permits.
- Conduct yourself in a professional/mature manner.
Qualifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid DZ driver’s license with a clean CVOR.
- Must be knowledgeable of height and weight requirements.
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., step up and down into truck, sit, kneel, reach, and bend.
- Must be able to read and write to ensure compliance paperwork is completed daily.
- Experience in a construction environment is preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 Years of Experience.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
