About the role

OBJECTIVES:
Provide strategic leadership and operational management of Nucor Rebar Fabrication detailing operations consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values. Primary focus includes the hiring, training, retention and development of Detailing teammates through coordination with Branch Managers and Detailing Supervisors within the Western Region.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Lead and promote safety culture, including demonstrating concern for personal safety for all, and exemplifying “Safety First” culture. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety rules, regulations, procedures and guidelines.
  • Lead and promote the Nucor Mission Statement, Five Key Initiatives, Five Big Rocks and the Nucor Way
  • Communicate clear expectations for NRF detailing teammates. Provide mentorship to motivate teammates by caring about their success, proactively sharing information, actively seeking and providing timely feedback.
  • Support broader talent development at NRF Branches by working with peers in the region on identifying and developing future leaders and talent for other departments (i.e. estimating and sales).
  • Support the alignment of branch business goals and development goals to the regional goals and to the Nucor Rebar Fabrication Vision and Values. Ensure effective implementation of all other Nucor Rebar Fabrication policies and directives relevant to branch operations.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, motivation, evaluation and work of Detailing teammates in the region.
  • Coordinate and support the planning of backlogs to ensure maximum utilization, complex project guidance and teammate growth opportunities across the region.
  • Collaborate with NRF D&E to address and support regional backlog requirements. Develop a clear set of goals and a strategy for the optimal utilization of Branch, Regional and India-based detailing.
  • Actively engage in Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s enterprise detailing initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of new training programs and tools
  • Communicate and clarify follow-through with all company policy and procedures.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for all Detailing teammates, with ongoing follow-up and constructive feedback to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently Qualified to work in the Canada
  • Possesses 5 years of experience in reinforcing steel detailing, fabrication, placing, or related sectors within the construction industry, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or departmental management role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7 Years construction industry experience (field, engineering, other construction products)
  • Knowledge of related business, labor relations and industrial regulations and standards
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement and/or related project management experience in implementing improvements
  • Ability to work as a team leader/member on projects with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Effective verbal and communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment
  • Lifting/handling computers and related equipment (typically not more than 25 pounds).
  • Moderate noise level.
