Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have an opening for a Analyst, Promotion on an 18-month contract. In this role, you will collaborate with various cross-functional teams including category management, replenishment, pricing, operations, and others to support execution of promotional activity.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Create and review control reports for category and support teams to ensure flawless execution of category promotional plans and accurate data representation.
  • Perform data validation of promotional merchandisers within determined guidelines and follow-up to ensure data accuracy, including review of cost and retail margin
  • Collaborate with category management and other cross functional teams to ensure data accuracy for promotional reporting and seamless promotion execution
  • Perform root cause analysis to address data analytics issues and share findings with relevant teams.
  • Coordinate required aspects in support of store changes, including communication to stakeholders, updating downstream systems that support promotional activities and managing store orders and bookings for a seamless transition.
  • Make recommendations to management team on potential changes to existing process based on analytics completed from reporting and root cause analysis
  • Engage with support teams to provide training on process or other learning opportunities
  • Align with the planning calendar on key milestones which support the promo planning process
  • Resolve store issues and concerns related to promotions, published merchandisers or other inquiries as required
  • Support testing and implementation of Project initiatives
  • Facilitate ad hoc reporting or data analysis requests as required

What you have to offer:

  • University degree and a minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
  • Intermediate level of MS Office Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze large amounts of data and accurately communicate results and findings
  • Strong ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of grocery merchandising and supporting analytics
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work closely with leadership, category management and other cross functional teams as required
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively under time-compressed situations
  • Ability to set and communicate promotional expectation to ensure accuracy for our stores and customers
  • SAP/CMA experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a digital workforce environment
  • Bilingual (French/English) preferred
