Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Revenue, the Director of Sales will be responsible for leading the Sales and Group Services team, steering the planning and execution of an ambitious strategic sales plan, and promoting the visibility of the properties and the brand among the business community and key players in the tourism industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Propose and implement a sales and marketing plan to maintain and grow corporate accounts in the group, business travel, and entertainment markets;
- Ensure each property maintains a clearly defined competitive positioning in the market;
- Supervise and coach the team in prospecting and developing new business accounts according to the objectives and specific parameters of each property;
- Work closely with the Revenue and Marketing departments to establish appropriate sales strategies, pricing strategies, marketing strategies, develop promotions, and design professional sales tools;
- Improve the conversion rate of incoming inquiries by ensuring strong customer engagement at every stage: information requests, follow-ups, quotes and negotiation, contract finalization;
- Develop the annual budgets for each point of sale;
- Enforce, review, and continuously analyze department operational guidelines, key standards, procedures, and policies;
- Optimize occupancy rates and maximize revenue generated from meeting spaces and restaurants;
- Lead weekly team meetings to ensure all departments have the necessary information to deliver high levels of service and performance;
- Improve the banquet offering in partnership with the Food & Beverage Directors;
- Actively contribute to the development of various market segments across our different hotel and restaurant projects;
- Work and collaborate closely with the various teams (accommodations, F&B, banquets, kitchen) across the Gray Collection properties to deliver an exceptional guest experience;
- Manage human resources (staff recruitment, training and coaching, talent development and succession planning, workload distribution, scheduling, productivity evaluation, conflict resolution, payroll management, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College diploma or bachelor's degree in business, hospitality or marketing is an asset;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a high-end or luxury hotel environment;
- Good knowledge of hotel management systems such as Opera Cloud, Open Table is an asset;
- Strong expertise in business development and customer experience;
- Ability to work across multiple locations;
- Excellent understanding of the group, consortia, business travel, and luxury markets;
- Experience in the Montreal market is an asset;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Strong planning skills (sales action plan and departmental budget management);
- Collaborative, team-oriented, and strong listening skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to train, coach, and mentor;
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
