At Summit Valve your hard work does not go unnoticed. We are a Western Canadian based distributor of valves, actuators, and instrumentation products. We need an exceptional Inside Sales Representative to join our team.
What does this mean?
The Account Manager plays an essential role in the development of sales opportunities, in conjunction with communication and support functions to customers. The goal of the Account Manager is to sell Summit solutions by creating exceptional value (relational, technical, commercial) for Summit customers. This involves knowing our customers and their needs, understanding the products we represent and how they are utilized, uncovering new opportunities and winning new business.
You will be assigned a specific geographic territory that will include assigned accounts.
The job description and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with the Sales Manager and Account Manager(s) to identify and develop business opportunities along with marketing strategies for existing and new markets.
- Represent Summit Valve and Controls in all aspects of its business for end users, engineers and contractors.
- Establish and meet sales goals for assigned territory.
- Strive to achieve and surpass booking/profitability goals through prospecting, quantifying and securing business opportunities.
- Increase customer loyalty by becoming an entrusted advisor.
- Provide customers with accurate, knowledgeable information concerning represented products and their suitability for customers’ applications.
- Ensure customer order requirements are effectively communicated to functional departments and vendors where required.
- Front-line liaison with customers including documenting and reporting on customer complaints or product non-conformances, as necessary.
- Work within the framework of our corporate Quality Management System
- Maintain quotation tracking and follow up procedures within the supplied software.
- Develop and continuously maintain territory database(s) as required.
- Attend product training sessions as required; travel may be required.
- Collaborate, support and work with Summit Product Champions as required.
Other Responsibilities:
You may be expected to provide service and start-up services to customers from time to time. It is Summit’s intent to have field service technicians support the territory and provide these services as often as possible; however you will be expected to perform field service as required .
Travel Expectations will vary month to month from 25% (1 week/month) at a minimum and 50% (2 weeks/month) as a maximum.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of key account management and customer relationship development
- Results driven with a track record of exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) including presentation and negotiation skills
- Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving skills
- Customer service focus
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- CRM and ERP experience
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive sales and key account management experience, preferably in technical or industrial sales.
- Applicants who do not meet the educational requirements but possess equivalent experience are encouraged to apply.
