Medicine Hat College is pleased to offer an opportunity for internal candidates to apply for the community-focused role of Community Relations Officer within our College Advancement team.
A little about the role:
This position is responsible for assisting with community, donor, sponsor, and alumni engagement to help achieve the strategic, operational, and fund development goals of Medicine Hat College including engagement and partnership with Indigenous communities.
The Community Relations Officer plays a key role in securing sponsorship for Indigenous programs, events, and projects, and supports the development and execution of major college events. The role involves managing partnerships and agreements, coordinating communications, and serving as a liaison with Indigenous organizations and other community stakeholders. This position also contributes to the development and attainment of the college’s annual fund development and sponsorship plans.
Details:
As a successful applicant you'll have:
- A two-year diploma in public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related discipline (a bachelor’s degree is preferred).
- A minimum of three years of relevant work experience, preferably in a post-secondary or community-focused environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and secure sponsorships or donations.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of Indigenous communities and protocols.
- Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Experience with data management systems is an asset.
Terms of Employment
Hours: 35 hours per week
Wage Rate: $30.82 per hour (Start Rate); $34.30 per hour (Job Rate)
