Position Overview:
Reporting to the AVP, Business Analytics the Director, Client and Product Profitability (CPP) Modelling, is responsible for the development and execution of our profitability models, focusing on optimizing client and product profitability analysis. This role requires deep technical understanding of financial and cost allocation modelling and extensive experience with SAS applications. The Director will be responsible for driving the technical modeling functions that support profitability across products and clients, ensuring data integrity and governance throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and maintenance of client product and profitability allocation models, ensuring accurate and reliable calculations using SAS or similar applications.
- Support the maintenance of prospect pricing model that supports the creation of competitive and profitable pricing strategies for new clients and prospects. Ensure this model is scalable and aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure that all profitability models are designed and implemented in line with best practices for data governance, ensuring data integrity, consistency and security throughout the process.
- Validate the output of profitability models to ensure that results are accurate, reliable, and consistent with business assumptions and objectives
- Collaborate with internal business units to gather, manage, and validate data, ensuring information used in the modelling is accurate, timely and of high quality.
- Develop a playbook for profitability model inputs that also establishes data governance standards including policies for data quality, validation and reconciliation.
- Oversee the configuration, and maintenance of SAS profitability application, working closely with stakeholders to ensure integration with internal systems
- Develop and implement robust methodologies for revenue and cost allocation and unit costing.
- Conduct regular reviews of profitability model, including the prospect pricing model, to ensure continued relevance and alignment with business objectives and requirements.
- Assist in preparing communications and presentations for senior leadership to share insights on both scheduled and ad-hoc basis including client dashboards, trend & scenario analysis, cost-benefit analysis, variance analysis and driver-based modeling
- Lead and guide team members in support of their deliverables, priorities, attaining a high level of work quality.
Qualifications:
Specific Knowledge & Skills

Minimum 8 years experience in financial and cost modelling with a focus on profitability analysis

Advanced proficiency in SAS profitability and analytics tools (CPM/Viya)

University degree in Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional designation (CPA, CFA) is an asset.

Strong prioritization, analytical, presentation, project management and planning skills.

Refined communication skills essential with peers, internal partners and management.

Ability to effectively synthesize large amounts of ambiguous/un-structured data to provide value add analysis, reporting and support strategy development, monitoring and refinements.
