About the role:
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Corporate Services Specialist is responsible for the preparation of agendas, minutes and correspondence, while also providing executive-level administrative support, often of a confidential nature, to the CAO, the UNA Board and members of the senior management team. A governance or corporate director designation (GPC.D, CGIC, or ICD.D) is considered an asset.

You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with considerable independence and minimal supervision. You have demonstrable administrative skills and abilities including the ability prepare agendas and accurately transcribe minutes from complex dialogue, and extensive experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe applications. A high degree of accuracy is required and expected, and you must be comfortable working within tight deadlines.

About University Neighbourhoods Association

The University Neighbourhoods Association (UNA) approximates a municipal council for the local areas on campus, promoting the creation of a vibrant, sociable, safe and diverse university town community at the University of British Columbia (UBC).

The UNA Board of Directors is comprised of five directors elected by residents, two directors appointed by UBC and one appointed by the Alma Mater Society (AMS). The number of elected directors is determined by neighbourhood population and will thus increase over time.

The UNA is responsible for local regulation (such as noise, parking, and animal control), as well as community programs and recreation, elections, landscaping, policies and by-laws, and acts as a liaison for the community's use of UBC facilities. Residents' concerns, opinions and views are heard through the UNA and it will help shape future development and the allocation of community facilities at UBC.
