About the role
Western Ag Systems is a leading provider of livestock and grain handling/milling equipment, supplies and service to the Saskatchewan Agricultural community. We are currently looking for a Service Technician/Electrician for our Saskatoon, SK location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot and repair farm equipment on customer sites
- Attend to service calls in a timely manner
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce the risk of breakdowns
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and/or technical problems and determines proper solutions
- Calibrate equipment according to specifications and operational needs
- Communicates with Service Manager/Service Writer to plan for future farm visits regarding recurring problems and any unfinished work that needs to be re-scheduled
- Completes necessary paperwork daily including timecard, work order, etc
- Provides excellent customer service by answering questions, providing information on maintenance of the product, explaining the work that has been done and providing solutions to recurring problems
- Partners with Sales team by providing key information required for a project/installation information when needed
- Works on an on-call rotation
Skills Required:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic electrical aptitude with previous experience working with and diagnosing equipment issues is preferred
- Minimum 1 year of agricultural experience is preferred
- Customer service orientation; friendly and willing to serve/help
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Working knowledge of computers and MS Office Word; proficient in the use of smart phones
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Excellent attention to detail
