Job Summary
In partnership with the CFO and Controller, the FP&A Analyst is a key strategic contributor responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s financial planning and analysis (FP&A) strategy across all business units. This role will lead the development of high-quality financial models, consolidated budgets, and forecasts that support data-driven decision-making. Reporting directly to the CFO, the FP&A Analyst will collaborate closely with business unit leaders to promote standardized, professionalized planning, budgeting, and reporting processes while establishing best practices for benchmarking internally and externally.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, strategic thinker with a strong background in financial analysis within dynamic, entrepreneurial environments. They will thrive in a collaborative, multi-location organization, bringing a collegial work style and a proven ability to partner effectively across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions across all business units, ensuring alignment with standard reporting packages.
- Lead a streamlined, organization-wide annual budgeting process and enhance quarterly forecasting models and procedures.
- Provide deep-dive analytics to support strategic initiatives, including margin improvement, cost control, and SG&A efficiency efforts.
- Design and execute ad hoc analyses to address emerging business needs and opportunities.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of financial data and reporting.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and best practices in financial planning, modeling, and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting certification.
- Experience working both within an accounting firm and in industry, ideally within a global or Canadian-wide organization.
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced Excel skills and experience developing complex financial models.
- Strong expertise in Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Strategic mindset with attention to detail and analytical rigor.
Work Environment
This position is based in either our Edmonton or Burlington office.
