About the role
Job Summary
This 3-year wrap around project seeks to improve opportunities for economically vulnerable families with young children to meet their basic needs and strengthen their financial stability by providing low-income parents/caregivers with individualized workforce skills training and employment assistance while concurrently providing their pre-school children with care and early child development activities. The Training Facilitator is a part-time contract position that will provide a variety of training and pre-employment related services in a highly professional, client-centric manner. The training facilitator is responsible for client intake and assessment, career coaching and case management, supporting clients by assisting to identify training options, training and facilitation of workshops and information sessions for clients.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Prepare workshop materials and facilitate sessions relating to career and training development
- Provide group instruction to each learner and promote interactive learning
- Case management (electronic/paper), including but not limited to reports using various database applications and client retention tracking.
- Ability to promote client retention and client stewardship by following-up and remaining engaged with clients during and after their needs are met
- Maintain knowledge of current labour market trends as well as the various resources in our community that can assist clients with their employment goals
- Meet and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly targets
- Exceptional file maintenance including case noting
- Maintain professional behavior and report behavior that is in conflict with agency and office policies
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Passionate and engaged in helping our clients with any training or employment related needs, with the ability to create a respectful, trusting and supportive rapport with said clients
- Respect and sensitivity for cultural, educational, diversity and social uniqueness
- Efficiently and appropriately gauge the transferable skills of a client with potential job opportunities
- Strong computer skills with various software applications and internet-based search engines, as well as proficiency with the ability to work with and deliver computerized learning programs
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating workshops
- Outstanding attention to accuracy and detail orientated when case noting and filing management/documentation
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently, and to remain accountable when working as part of a collaborative team
- Superior organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset
- G Driver’s license with a clean record, and ability to commute region wide
- Clear current Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 36 months
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 22 – 30 per week
Flexible language requirement:
- French not required

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
Education:
- DCS / DEC (preferred)
Experience:
- Training & development: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Class G Licence (preferred)
Willingness to travel:
- 25% (preferred)
