ABOUT PURPOSE DRIVEN RELOCATION
We simplify and humanize the tenant relocation process, delivering compassionate, person-centered services that balance the needs of tenants and housing providers throughout the lower mainland.
With a deep understanding of development timelines, we prioritize clear communication and efficient, solution-oriented support throughout every stage of relocation. Backed by extensive expertise in development and relocation, we leverage our robust network within the affordable housing sector to deliver tailored, impactful results.
TENANT RELOCATION COORDINATOR (75% OF ROLE)
The Tenant Relocation Coordinator is responsible for supporting residents through a smooth relocation process. Reporting to the Manager of Tenant Relocation, this position coordinates all aspects of the relocation process including being the primary point of contact for tenant inquiries, identifying new home options that meet tenant needs, supporting tenants with all aspects of moving logistics, ensuring tenants receive compensation in alignment with municipal policy and the Residential Tenancy Act, and tracking and documenting the process for reporting purposes.
You’ll also play a key role in maintaining clear, organized reporting on resident needs, housing options, compensation offered, and cost tracking, which are essential for municipal and client reporting requirements.
This is an on-the-ground, relationship-based role that blends advocacy and care with adherence to relevant policy and client objectives, effective schedule and deadline management, and effective communication.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tenant Relocation Planning & Support
• Conduct one-on-one meetings with residents to understand needs and preferences.
• Distribute and compile Tenant Needs Surveys to all residents to collect information on tenant needs for interim housing.
• Assist tenants in viewing new homes and attending open houses.
• Develop individualized relocation plans, including timelines, support needs, and transportation.
Documentation & Coordination
• Support tenants with rental application forms and any required tenancy documents.
• Ensure all necessary documents are completed prior to and after the move.
• Coordinate with moving companies, service providers, or family members as needed.
• Track and maintain accurate records for each tenant and relocation scenario.
Communication & Liaison
• Serve as the key point of contact between residents, property manager, and support teams for matters related to Tenant Relocation.
• Liaise with housing providers and community partners to identify and secure housing.
• Provide updates and clear information to both internal team members and external stakeholders.
Site & Logistics
• Primary work will be located at resident building (Cambie & Marine, Vancouver), open house sites across Vancouver, and Purpose Driven’s head office (Gastown), and other site locations as required for relocation work.
• While typical hours are 9-5, some flexibility to meet residents based on their availability and needs is essential.
Administrative Coordination
• Support the Tenant Relocation Manager develop Purpose Driven Relocation materials that may include business development and marketing materials, new project proposals, templates, social media content, and forms.
OFFICE ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT (25%)
Support the Purpose Driven Development team with office administration to ensure an effective workplace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide administrative support to all staff including managing office supplies, maintaining office organization and filing, and supporting the team with any events and large meeting organization and coordination as required.
- Support with day-to-day departmental administrative tasks as required, including processing expense claims, receipt tracking, maintaining office equipment.
- Provide support in the preparation of document packages including scanning, printing, filing.
- Support senior management and other team members on a variety of assignments as required including support on file management and clean up, implementation of new systems, research related to projects, and other assignments as required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- 2–4 years of experience in community services, housing support, relocation coordination, social work, tenancy advocacy, or a related client-facing field.
- Proven ability to build trusting, compassionate relationships with vulnerable or diverse populations, including seniors, low-income renters, and newcomers while maintaining a professional approach.
- Demonstrated experience working within or navigating systems such as the Residential Tenancy Act , municipal relocation policies, or an aptitude for policy and regulation review.
- Demonstrated ability to create and manage detailed tracking systems , organize documents, and support reporting requirements for funders, municipalities, or clients.
- Highly organized and self-directed , with the ability to prioritize competing tasks, meet deadlines, and adjust in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain processes, rights, and responsibilities clearly and empathetically.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel); familiarity with digital filing systems and basic design or layout tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Canva, etc.) is an asset.
- Demonstrates key Purpose Driven qualities: patient, detail-oriented, accountable, curious, and purpose-driven .
- Passionate about housing justice, community wellbeing, and supporting values-driven development initiatives.
COMPENSATION
This role is currently a part time role at 22.5 hours per week (3/5 days) with the potential for a full time role after 3-6 months. Dependent on project capacity required.
Potential for bonus participation, health and dental, and vacation following 3 month probationary period.
