Please Note: This is a temporary position ending on or before January 31,2027, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate must have availability for varied shifts throughout the school year to support business needs.

This position includes a variety of shifts flexing between the hours of 8am and 5:30pm including movement/shifts between Patricia, Souch and Main campus based on business needs. This is a part time role working 29 hours a week, which will include Tuesday evenings and Saturday shifts.

Are you an independent thinker who shows initiative? shop AT NAIT is looking for a creative, professional individual to join our team and provide outstanding customer experiences. We are more than just a bookstore, and not only will you serve those who walk in our doors, you will provide digital course material support and assist in fulfilling web and special orders. Our web order support includes processing online orders as well as the selling of digital resources, and trouble shooting student issues. Attention to detail is a must in this role and accurately processing transactions is of fundamental importance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process sales and web orders in an efficient manner, modelling accuracy

  • Support the picking and fulfillment of web and special orders

  • Actively engage customers by offering support, suggesting items for purchase, answering questions, and resolving concerns in a friendly manner.

  • Support the process of receiving, counting, tagging, and organizing inventory and customer orders

  • Prepare merchandise for sale and assist in the promotion of products and specials

  • Replenish floor stock and keep team informed of product sell-through observations

  • When helping at the satellite campuses liaise with Buyers at Main campus to ensure students and staff needs are met

  • Enact loss-prevention strategies in order to support a secure shopping environment

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently when needed

  • Full comprehension of Microsoft Office suite with strong computer knowledge and abilities

  • Detail orientated and an agile learner with the ability to retain product knowledge and confidently assist customers

  • Excellent skills in customer service, communication, and teamwork

  • The ability to learn and follow established departmental guidelines and procedures

  • Flexibility with scheduling, including the ability to work increased hours during peak periods and some evening and weekend shifts

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (30lbs often)

Qualifications:

  • A current drivers license would be an asset and easy access to a vehicle as our two satellite campuses are difficult to get to on public transit

  • Must have previous experience in a retail or customer service environment where focus was on providing an excellent customer experience

  • Point of Sale experience is necessary to be successful in the role

  • Completion of grade 12 and a combination of experience and education related to the role

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).

Remuneration: $24,634.27 - $32,705.71 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification – Customer Service Rep I).

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
