The Université de Sherbrooke invites applications for fully funded MSc and PhD positions in Wildlife Ecology under the supervision of Dr. April Martinig. Successful candidates will join a new research group focused on animal movement and behavioural ecology, with flexible start dates in May or September 2026.
Research Themes Include – Behavioural ecology of red squirrels in the Yukon through field tracking
– Meta-analysis and synthesis of large ecological datasets
– Modeling animal responses to environmental change using global movement datasets
Funding – MSc: $20,000 CAD per year (2 years)
– PhD: $25,000 CAD per year (4 years)
– Tuition waivers for international students
Requirements – Academic background in biology, ecology, evolution, environmental science, statistics, or computer science
– Minimum GPA: MSc applicants 3.0/4.3; PhD applicants require an MSc or 4.0/4.3 BSc
– French language proficiency is not required
Additional Assets – Experience with R or Python
– Skills in science communication
– Interest in outreach, Indigenous collaboration, or interdisciplinary research
