Position: General Tool Room Machinist
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Location: 2485 Speers Road, Oakville

We are looking for a Machinist to work with the Tool Room Supervisor/Engineering and Production Department to build, repair and maintain production Fixtures and Tooling. This Position will include the safe use of all the Tool Room Equipment. (Lathe, Milling Machine and Surface Grinder.) The backup of the Production Machine Department is also a function of the Tool Room Machinist.
Responsibilities:
· The ability to design, manufacture and troubleshoot various types of tools including stamping / forming dies, fixtures, gages, assembly tooling and applying the proper heat treatment.
· Assume responsibility for the quality of completed assignments.
· Must be able to work independently, meet productivity, and due date requirements of assignments.
· Problem solve and determine solutions for various types of tooling problems.
· Maintain and execute a Preventive Maintenance Program on Tack / Weld Fixtures and Robot Fixtures.
· Understand the properties and characteristics of various tool steels and their applications.
· Understand the properties of other metals such as mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and bronze and how they are affected by the stresses of machining and forming.
· Maintain and Source inventory of spare Parts and Hardware.
Education & Qualifications
· Associates Degree experience preferred or similar work experience working as a Tool Maker or Master Machinist or finished Apprenticeship as General Machinist or Tool and Die
· Determine and if necessary, purchase the correct Material for Fixtures and Tooling.
· Basic knowledge of welding processes.
· Basic knowledge of CNC programming, part locating and datum points.
· Must have experience with 3D CAD system.
· The ability to use and apply shop mathematics including geometry, trigonometry, and Machinery’s Handbook formulas as required to compete assignments.
· The ability to work from, understand, and produce CAD generated drawings.
· The ability to work independently and apply ingenuity to analyze and resolve problems.
Salary and Benefits
· Salary: CAD 30 – CAD 40 Hourly, (Depending on Experience)
· Medical & Dental after 3 months
· Flexible with hours of work - able to work Day/Aft shifts and OT as required.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
