Truck Driver/General Assembler
Department: Supply Chain & Manufacturing
Reports to: Manager of Logistics/Plant Manager
Full time
Job Summary: Responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of to customers and suppliers. When driving is not required, the incumbent will be cross-trained for general assembly on the manufacturing floor.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Transport finished goods to manufacturing plants, suppliers or customers
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues
- Perform daily circle checks
- Work with Logistics coordinator to plan and coordinate routes
- Meet delivery schedules
- Document and log hours and kms
- Comply with truck driving rules, cargo securement, as well as company policy and procedures
- Load and unload cargo
- Follow traffic laws
- Refuel and clean vehicle
- Maintain positive attitude with customers and delivery contacts
- Complete proof of delivery paperwork
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid G class license
- Ability to drive long distances
- Hands on experience with pallet jack
- Clean drivers abstract
