Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team in preserving the quality, safety, and operational efficiency of our facilities. This individual will oversee all building systems, manage preventative maintenance programs, and contribute to ongoing renovation projects and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, schedule, and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring daily tasks and long-term projects are completed effectively and safely.
- Maintain and troubleshoot building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and fire safety equipment.
- Perform maintenance operations such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, general repairs and routine maintenance of pool, hot tub and grounds maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections and implement preventative maintenance strategies to extend the lifespan of hotel assets and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Manage and track work orders, maintenance logs, inventory of tools and supplies, and contractor performance.
- Collaborate with housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage teams to promptly address guest room and facility repair needs.
- Oversee renovations, sustainability upgrades, and equipment installations in coordination with senior management and external contractors.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, hotel standards, and applicable municipal and provincial codes.
- Support the hotel’s environmental initiatives, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and water conservation efforts.
- Participate in emergency response planning and be available for on-call support when required.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in hospitality or commercial property management.
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and preventative maintenance programs.
- Experience with energy-efficient building practices and sustainability initiatives is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic hotel environment.
- Physical capability to lift, climb, and perform hands-on maintenance work as needed.
- A Pool Operators certificate or the ability to obtain certification is required.
- Trade certification(s) or Building Operator certification is an asset.
- Valid BC driver’s license.
