Community Management Team Lead – Dead by Daylight
About the role
The role
Behaviour Interactive is seeking a passionate and experienced Community Management Team Lead to spearhead our community efforts on Dead by Daylight, the world’s leading multiplayer horror game. As part of our Live Ops & Player Engagement team, you will lead a dedicated group of community professionals tasked with deepening the connection between our global player base and our development team.
This role is central to how we listen, respond, and evolve based on our players' experiences. You’ll co-develop a mid-term strategic roadmap focused on retention, sentiment, and engagement within the Dead by Daylight community. Your mission: ensure every player feels seen, heard, and excited to be part of The Fog.
In this role you will :
- Co-create and operationalize a community strategy for Dead by Daylight in partnership with the Community Director—one that drives player loyalty, trust, and excitement across game updates, events, and ongoing content.
- Be the voice of the player internally: advocate for community needs by surfacing constructive feedback to developers, Live Ops, QA, and Production in an actionable, data-informed format.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary community team and helping them prioritize, grow, and execute against player-first goals.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment with Brand, PR, Creator Relations, Customer Support, and Game Production to keep our community touchpoints consistent and impactful.
- Oversee all community content, from Patch Notes, Dev Updates, and Public Test Build messaging to memes, lore drops, livestream Q&As, and Reddit AMAs.
- Support and improve team workflows, by identifying bottlenecks and implementing scalable, sustainable processes that enable high-quality community output.
- Own the community calendar across all platforms (Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram, Discord, YouTube, Steam, and Reddit) ensuring it complements game content beats, surprise moments, and key tentpole campaigns.
- Track and report KPIs including sentiment, engagement, social growth, and community health metrics—sharing these insights clearly with multiple departments.
- Handle basic HR tasks (PTO, timesheets, one-on-ones), while maintaining high morale and clear expectations across your team.
- Evaluate new tools and trainings (from sentiment-tracking software to influencer dashboards) to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
What we're looking for :
- 5+ years of experience in a live service environment with an active and vocal player base.
- Expertise in multiplayer communities—you understand the nuances of competitive metas, balance debates, content gaps, and player trust.
- A deep appreciation and love for the horror genre, with working knowledge of Dead by Daylight’s tone, lore, and community culture.
- Hands-on community experience: Reddit, Discord, forums, and social are your bread and butter—and you know how to handle both hype and heat.
- Strong content instincts: you’ve published posts, shot memes, created patch explainer threads, or scripted dev diaries yourself.
- Comfort with data—you understand community KPIs like DAU engagement, sentiment tracking, churn triggers, and platform analytics.
- Leadership experience, preferably managing a team of community professionals in a fast-paced or AAA gaming environment.
- A keen understanding of survivor vs. killer dynamics, MMR-related player frustration, PTB reactions, and what makes the DbD community tick.
- Familiarity with Scrum or Agile production pipelines.
