Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) is a leading healthcare institution dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and advancing medical research. We are seeking a highly skilled Endocrinologist with a specialization in Transplant Endocrinology to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on enhancing the quality of life for patients undergoing solid organ, bone marrow, hematologic stem cell and islet cell transplants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive endocrinological care to patients undergoing solid organ and islet cell transplants.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that integrate immune therapies and endocrinological management.
- Conduct patient assessments, including physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and interpretation of laboratory results.
- Monitor and manage hormonal therapies and immunosuppressive regimens to optimize transplant outcomes.
- Engage in clinical research and contribute to the advancement of the transplant endocrinology field through publications and presentations.
- Educate patients and families about transplant processes, medication management, and lifestyle modifications necessary for long-term success.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and provide timely consultations for inpatient and outpatient referrals.
Qualifications
Education, Licensing, & Experience :
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC)- Full
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – Mandatory
- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons certification in Endocrinology
- Advanced training and expertise in Transplant Endocrinology, specifically with solid organ, hematologic and islet cell transplant patients
- Demonstrated experience with immune therapies and their applications in transplant medicine.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of endocrinology and transplantation.
