We are looking for an experienced and proactive Property Claims Technical Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key technical resource, collaborating with various teams to enhance quality, improve performance, and align with organizational objectives.
You will provide coaching and mentoring to a diverse team, offering expert guidance on industry best practices and emerging trends. Your focus will be on developing team members' skills, ensuring their growth, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. A key responsibility will be partnering with both internal and external stakeholders to assess performance metrics, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement. You will use your analytical expertise to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform critical decisions, shape strategies, and drive operational improvements.
This position offers the opportunity to actively contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts. By leveraging advanced data analysis, benchmarking, and industry insights, you will provide strategic recommendations that support the evolution of our claims processes in line with business and industry developments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coach, mentor, and support the development of team members at all levels across the property claims function. Foster skill growth, confidence, and career progression, ensuring team members excel in both minor and complex claims handling.
- Lead and facilitate training, workshops, and peer mentoring programs, equipping team members with the knowledge and tools needed to excel in their roles and align with evolving business processes.
- Provide oversight on property losses of varying size, ensuring appropriate management and resolution. Your guidance will ensure that all claims are handled with the same level of diligence, quality, and efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including departments to ensure alignment with business objectives and drive operational success.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and fair claims practices and provide guidance on how to interpret and apply policies effectively within the team and across operations.
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of industry standards and business processes to drive continuous improvement in operational performance and efficiency.
- Analyze business and stakeholder needs to recommend improvements and optimize claims procedures, ensuring effective service delivery.
- Collaborate with legal and quality teams to share trends, discuss policy changes, and ensure ongoing compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Summarize and present key findings, recommendations, and performance reviews to leadership and other key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication of insights.
- Drive the successful completion of strategic initiatives and projects by aligning them with organizational goals and adapting processes as needed at a global or enterprise level.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or equivalent industry certifications.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in property claims adjusting, with strong knowledge of insurance policy interpretation, coverage analysis, and repair methodologies. Experience across multiple provinces is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling large loss and complex claims.
- Proficient in claims management software such as Xactimate, Symbility, Guidewire, or comparable systems.
- Comprehensive experience in various adjusting roles, with in-depth understanding of both residential and commercial construction practices.
- Strong investigative skills with the ability to resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Working knowledge of legal processes, including litigation and related procedures.
- Membership in industry associations or technical committees (e.g., CFEI or equivalent) is an asset.
- Proven success in training, coaching, and mentoring others; consulting experience is considered an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant industry software.
- Skilled in building rapport and working effectively with individuals at all levels and technical abilities.
- Highly self-motivated, goal-driven, and results-oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a remote team, with strong time management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with sound judgment under pressure.
