About the role

The Opportunity

The Arts, Sociology and Psychology instructors needed to teach the following University Transfer courses:

  1. SOCY 100 - Introduction to Sociology
  2. PSYCH 104 - Basic Psychological Process
  3. PSYCH 103 - Introduction to Psychology
  4. PSYCH 239 - Abnormal Psychology
  5. PSYCH 223 - Developmental Psychology
  6. ARTH 102 - Introduction to History of Art II

These are contract positions. The University Studies instructors deliver quality classes and share subject matter expertise with students within the curriculum and course outline. The instructors also enter attendance and grade and perform other duties related to a teaching environment.

Flexible delivery formats (Online Asynchronous, Online Synchronous, & In person).

Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB. Preference will be given to candidates currently living in Fort McMurray.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Primarily teach their specific courses across the curriculum
  • Maintaining office hours and student mentorship/engagement
  • Maintaining professional competence and knowledge of subject matter

Qualifications

  • Minimum Master of Arts & Humanities or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-year cumulative post-secondary teaching experience
  • Proficient with the use of learning technologies
  • Excellent classroom management and instructional skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Dependable and resourceful team member with a proven track record of managing multiple competing priorities with a calm professional approach
  • Commitment to inclusion and diversity
