As a Certification, Senior Specialist, you will play a key role in testing and certifying Interac products and services, with a focus on Interac Flash, Payments, Konek, Interac Direct, ISO 8583, ISO 20022, and mobile NFC payments. You’ll define certification processes, develop test plans, and ensure alignment with industry standards and evolving Interac specifications.
You'll be responsible for:
- Defining and maintaining certification strategies, processes, and documentation.
- Developing and executing test plans aligned with business objectives and technical specifications.
- Reviewing and interpreting specification changes to ensure certification processes remain current.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to support certification and integration efforts.
- Contributing to QA strategy and processes, including planning for future certification frameworks.
- Creating certification artifacts such as test strategies, integration tests, regression tests, acceptance tests, and smoke tests.
- Implementing and enhancing test automation tools and scripts.
- Investigating interoperability issues, debug problems, and identify root causes in production environments.
- Supporting client onboarding and integration testing, ensuring successful implementation of releases.
- Coordinating with certification labs and manage client/vendor certification processes.
- Liaising with cross-functional teams to resolve interdependencies and project issues.
- Quality assurance testing and aligning certification artifacts with technical and business requirements.
- Reviewing technical specifications (Interac, EMVCo, ISO) and translating them into actionable test plans.
- Advising on test strategies within agile teams and across broader tech functions.
- Consulting with developers to design automated testing strategies, including unit testing.
- Writing and executing API test cases and scripts for functional, performance, and automation testing.
- Supporting external partners such as financial institutions and vendors.
- Ensuring organizational certifications and accreditations are maintained to support client implementations.
- Researching and applying industry best practices to improve certification processes.
You bring:
- A university degree in Computer Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid experience in testing and certification methodologies and best practices.
- Deep knowledge of EMV and payment systems.
- You’re proficient in ISO 8583 and ISO 20022 messaging standards, with strong Interac IMN experience.
- Working knowledge of cryptography and database processing (SQL).
- You can write Java and JavaScript code for testing purposes.
- Experience with scripting and tools for testing web services and modern web applications.
- 5+ years testing APIs using tools like SoapUI and ReadyAPI.
- You’ve led or supported end-to-end client implementations.
- You’re highly analytical, organized, and an effective communicator.
- You’ve worked with diverse stakeholders to gather requirements and build both manual and automated test plans.
- You’re experienced in executing UAT for EMV-based systems.
- Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
