This position involves many continuous hours of repetitive motion tasks such as, but not limited to, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, standing, over head reaching, pushing, pulling lifting, transferring and portering of up to bariatric clients
Verbal and written English must be clear and fluent
MUST be reliable, hard working and willing to work as a team and independently
Preference given to those applicants with CHOICE or day program experience

all new external hires will be hired at Step 1 of the Collective Agreement until Letters of Portability are received.

You will provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal service and leisure activities and other related duties.

Personal Care Attendant (PCA) certificate and experience working with seniors and those with dementia is preferred. You are able to work well within a team, possess excellent interpersonal skills and are a strong communicator in both verbal and written English. Food Safe 1 is required (post July 29, 2013) or equivalent for BC employees and Food Safety Basic or equivalent for Alberta employees.

Requirements:

  • A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
  • A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
