What we offer

Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure, the Systems Engineer is responsible an array of responsibilities that revolve around designing, developing and maintaining computer systems in order to keep them running satisfactorily. They do this by examining systems, troubleshooting their issues, developing solutions to problems that arise and brainstorming possible upgrades that could be made.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building out, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT infrastructure. Serve as part of a team of engineers who collectively demonstrate excellent technical competence, reliability in delivering mission-critical infrastructure, and who continually ensure the highest levels of accessibility, optimization, and security. Qualified applicants will have a strong background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis.

What you’ll do

  • Leading the Infrastructure system design and delivery for new systems, upgrades, or replacement
  • Implements complex VLAN, SAN and Network solutions at customers sites, using a variety of technologies (Fortinet, HP, Meraki, Cisco).
  • Oversight of infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Continual maintenance of security, including backup and redundancy strategies.
  • Building, testing, and maintaining servers and the VDI environment.
  • Authoring and updating infrastructure, support, and procedures documentation
    Ensure configuration, change and event management processes, procedures and controls are implemented and adhered to
  • Able to read/write scripts in PowerShell, Python, and Bash
  • Provide technical assistance on windows, and cloud-based systems, and resolve operational problems.
  • Compare, evaluate, implement new technologies, and integrate systems into the computing environment.
  • Provides technical expertise and assistance on 2nd and 3rd level support.

What y****ou b****ring

  • Degree in management information systems, computer science, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience in information technology development and/or IT consulting; or any combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience deploying and supporting complex systems infrastructures.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft technologies, Windows Server 2022 and below, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of server maintenance, release management, and change control processes.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of virtualization and containerization
  • Intermediate knowledge of systems availability, backup, and disaster recovery disciplines
  • Exposure to SAN design, implementation, and support
  • Solid LAN/WAN skills (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
