Bridging Business and Technology Through EDI
As the Assistant Manager, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), you’ll lead a skilled team and play a key role in optimizing how Home Hardware exchanges critical data with suppliers and internal systems. Led by the Manager, Inventory Systems & Replenishment Optimization, you’ll provide day-to-day support to the team, coach through challenges, and collaborate cross-functionally to support upcoming system enhancements. - Lead and inspire a small high-performing team of technical professionals, fostering a results-driven and collaborative environment.
- Represent the EDI department in cross-functional business discussions and lead platform upgrades, testing, and implementations.
- Contribute to the development and execution of a forward-looking EDI strategy that supports evolving business needs.
- Partner with internal teams to build and implement scalable EDI processes and strategies that drive functionality and efficiency.
- Serve as the EDI subject matter expert, maximizing the use of our systems and technology tools.
- Oversee day-to-day EDI operations with a focus on increasing supplier adoption, accountability, and measurable results.
- Manage relationships with third-party service providers to ensure seamless external EDI integration and support.
- Drive department initiatives, ensuring key EDI objectives and timelines are met.
- Analyze EDI data and performance trends to generate insights and recommend improvements.
- Identify operational gaps and explore EDI data as a tool to solve complex business challenges.
We’re looking for:
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with the ability to support Team Members, coach through challenges, and guide problem-solving when issues arise.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong analytical thinking and comfort working with data to support business decisions.
- A foundational understanding of electronic commerce practices and EDI standards (e.g. X12)
- Familiarity with EDI communication protocols, payment processes, and invoice management is an asset.
- Experience working with or a good understanding of system interactions, such as CA, WMS, HH1, RMS, and Oracle Financials.
- Exposure to operating systems, file structures, and EDI mapping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with tools like Access or Oracle Discoverer is an asset.
- The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, as part of our hybrid working model.
