Backwoods Energy Services is currently seeking an experienced Security Guard for an Industrial Facility in Fort Saskatchewan, AB.

Wage: $20.00 / Hour

Schedule: Split 8 hour shift

Where: Industrial Facility in Fort Saskatchewan

The Role:

This is a Security Guard Position at a Industrial Plant 20 minutes outside of Edmonton, AB. Ideal candidates will live close to the NE side of Edmonton or Fort Saskatchewan - so they can get to site the easiest.

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by patrolling and monitoring premises
  • Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment and access points
  • Access Control: Permit authorized persons entry to site when required
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, inform violators of policy and procedures; restrain if necessary
  • Control traffic by directing drivers
  • Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA’s) and Daily Occurrence Reports (DOR’s) and Incident Reports (IR’s) when required
  • Inspect Backwoods vehicles, notify Field Manager when service is required
  • Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
  • Arrive on time for shift. If you know you will be unable to fulfill your duties, you must communicate with the on-call supervisor ahead of time
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively both as part of a team or individually
  • Evenings, weekends, and holiday work is required.

What We're Looking For:

  • Local to the Edmonton/Fort Saskatchewan area (required)
  • Alberta Security License (required)
  • 1 year Industrial Security experience (required)
  • Class 5 Driver's License with no more than 6 demerits (required)
  • Standard First Aid with CPR (preferred)
  • CSTS (required)
  • H2S Awareness (preferred)
  • Objectivity, emotional control and dependability
  • Able to follow complex instructions, both written and verbal
  • Knowledgeable about security operations and procedures
  • Site orientations as needed and requested
