About the role
Job Summary
The Manager for Production Control has overall accountability for mid- and long-term forecast activities related to NPI, production planning, inventory management, order fulfillment, Packaging & Logistics. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and experience in production planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Manage increasingly competing priorities and deadlines, providing outstanding support to internal partners and customers in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and utilize data to make real time decisions and strategic planning.
- Effectively use problem solving tools to identify root cause and implement interim and permanent corrective actions.
- Set clear goals and KPIs, regularly monitoring performance and providing feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Point of escalation for production planning issues, supporting the team in resolving challenges related to scheduling, capacity, demand fluctuations or logistic issues.
- Participate in weekly, monthly Management meetings including preparing and presenting updates on Delivery, Production Planning, and Inventory Management
- Develop or update standard work processes to support current business requirements.
- Assist in all aspects of organizational objectives and support, including team morale and interface with senior leadership regarding solutions to complex issues.
- Support Daily Genba Management
- Leverage lean manufacturing methodologies to influence continuous improvement and execution; as well as partner with business partners to streamline processes and foster cross-functional relationships.
- Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members while maintaining productivity and morale.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, Business administration or equivalent related work experience.
- 5-10 year of experience in managerial role, overseeing production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing, preferably within the automotive industry.
- In-depth knowledge of production planning with proven understanding of component ordering forecasting and customer demand.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, and performance tracking
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing process, materials, and Tier 1 supplier requirements, including kanban systems, quality, and delivery standards
- Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze data and forecast demand.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems production scheduling software (Cigma), and advance excel.
- Problem-Solving Skills, including leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Salary CAD $99,000-$123,000.
