MHSW is looking to fill a Fleet Technician vacancy, which will be focused on supporting our day-to-day operations in Saskatoon. This position may include shift work, including working days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

The position entails, but is not limited to the following:

  • Interact professionally at all times with staff and emergency health services stakeholders and vendors.
  • Operate all systems and company vehicles in accordance with Saskatchewan laws as well as all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate and display excellent customer services skills.
  • Demonstrate good decision making skills and take initiative as needed.
  • Restock bins from morning and evening shift change.
  • Regularly reconcile spare bins.
  • Check and sealing of spare kits.
  • Ensure ambulance bays are clean and organized.
  • Empty linen, garbage, and recycling bins.
  • Refill cleaning chemicals and ensure correct labeling and MSDS.
  • Maintains order and cleanliness in storeroom.
  • Regular stocking and cleaning of satellite stations.
  • Monitors and maintains stock to predetermined minimum and maximum levels.
  • Rotate stock based on expiration date.
  • Inspect deliveries for damage, expiration dates and accuracy.
  • Maintains an excellent knowledge of departmental standards, policies, operational procedures.
  • Promote and participate in safe practice objectives set by the organization, ensuring safety and safe practice in all work activities.
  • Report all incidents and complete written incident report forms (UIR.)
  • Deep cleaning of ambulances.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

As the ideal candidate for this role, you will have:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Must submit with resume a copy (front and back) of a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license, minimum class 5.
  • Must submit with resume a current (within last 30 days) driver’s abstract.
  • Must submit with resume a current (within last 60 days) criminal record check.
  • Experience in inventory and supply management considered an asset.
  • Experience in vehicle detailing is considered an asset.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance ability.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in the English language.
  • Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills in dealing with people and working in groups.
  • Has the ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Exercise a significant degree of discretion and independent judgment.
