About the role
AscendantFX Capital Inc., provides innovative technology to create customized international payment solutions for businesses. Our office is located at 1902-150 King St. W. ,Toronto, ON M5H 1J9. We are looking for a Global Payments Team Lead to join our team immediately in support of the North American Global Payments team. The Global Payments Team Lead role will provide an introduction into management and automation with a specific focus on training teams across functions. This is a permanent, full-time position of 37.5 hours/week. Salary will range between $69,500 - $75,000/annum based on experience. This is a hybrid role, the Global Payments Team Lead will be expected to work from the office location along with being able to work remotely. The individual in this role will also be enrolled in the company group benefits plan. The language of work for the position is English.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of the team, ensuring the efficient assignment and completion of tasks related to financial transactions, accounts management, and banking operations
- Monitoring transaction processing to ensure that daily performance targets are met, verifying accuracy and authorizing routine payments and other financial transactions as needed
- Maintaining and updating training documents in line with evolving processes, banking regulations, and internal policies, ensuring team members are kept informed of any procedural changes
- Leading team coaching and conducting performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement, ensuring employees are well-trained in job duties, company policies, and compliance standards
- Participating in process improvement discussions and contributing actionable ideas to optimize team workflows and increasing operational efficiency
- Taking part in testing for application rollouts, ensuring that new software tools or system enhancements are implemented smoothly without disrupting existing operations
- Facilitating training sessions on new enhancements or provide retraining as necessary to ensure the team remains proficient in updated systems and procedures
- Handling associate inquiries and troubleshooting issues related to financial processes, resolving problems efficiently and ensuring minimal impact on team productivity
- Addressing internal departmental inquiries, such as those related to bank reconciliations or treasury issues, and ensure timely resolution to maintain workflow continuity
- Managing the distribution of daily, weekly, and monthly reports, ensuring that key performance metrics and financial data are accurately tracked and communicated
- Performing other duties as requested by management, supporting team and organizational goals while ensuring smooth operations across all areas of responsibility
You must have the following qualifications:
- Completion of college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field
- Experience in FX/Payment Processing and Payment instruction validation
- Extensive experience in finance or accounts payable roles
- Experience working with the following accounting banking software: DataSoft FXO, CashPro, Accuity Bankers Almanac, ITMS, Microsoft Office and other related banking services
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and credit check as part of the hiring process
